The Magadan to Kamchatka 4wd Expedition. Spring 2011.

No roads to Chukotka‘s settlements of Anadyr and Pevek exist. No summer track, no winter roads. Though authorities have a plan to construct such a road.

Completely-equipped off-road vehicles (based on cargo ones) managed to make it to Anadyr in winter, but through Yakutia, not directly from Magadan Oblast.

No road/track to Kamchatka either.

However, in the early spring, prio to ice melting, two off-road vehicles of Magadan’s Nord Trophy Off-Road Club and Kamchatka’s 4WD Club were lucky to get from Magadan to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and back through the complicated network of ice and winter roads and plain terrain fields.

The above photo is from that Magadan to Kamchatka breakthrough. More photographs in the Nord Trophy gallery.

So, everything is possible, if to traverse extreme routes.
